    The Tech Industry’s Richest People

    There have always been the wealthy and the poor. Thousands of years ago it was the Pharaohs; hundreds of years ago it was the kings, queens, and emperors. Today, it’s the tech billionaires, and they are perhaps the wealthiest and most powerful human beings that have ever existed.

    Modern technology turned out to be a new kind of gold rush, especially for those that jumped in on it early, and many of them quickly became some of the richest people of all time.

    Bill Gates

    Most people have heard of Bill Gates, the man behind the software company Microsoft. The pioneer of the Windows operating system, and one of the main forces behind several extremely successful marketing campaigns over the decade that cemented Windows as the dominant operating system across the world. Gates is also known for running the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a charity that works throughout the globe to try and mitigate some of the biggest problems we are facing right now.

    Mark Zuckerberg

    There are movies, documentaries, and countless articles about Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard dropout that would go on to start one of the most successful social media companies of all time. Zuckerberg has been at the centre of numerous criticisms and controversies over the years, he has still managed to build an empire that services billions upon billions of people.

    Elon Musk

    Elon Musk has been at the forefront of a number of successful ventures over the years, including PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla, and plenty of others. Despite many controversies to his name, there’s no denying that Musk is a shrewd businessman, and has on more than one occasion earned the title of world’s richest man.

    Larry Page

    It’s a name that not everyone will be familiar with, but most people have heard of the company that he started: Google. Page is currently within the top ten richest tech billionaires in the world at the moment and had an estimated net worth of $91 billion in 2021.

    Google, which is a part of conglomerate Alphabet, is the company behind Gmail, Google Search, Google Drive, Android, Chrome, and other projects, all of which that have shaped the modern world of instant communication, social media, online pokies NZ games, streaming, and more.

    Jeff Bezos

    Jeff Bezos is the founder of Amazon, a company that was once nothing more than a means of getting a hold of books online. But that changed over the years, and Bezos turned Amazon from an online library to one of the largest retailers of all time – just about everything can be found on Amazon, and it’s begun to compete with physical stores.

    On top of that, Bezos also started AWS, which uses cloud infrastructure to run a large portion of the world’s websites. Like many others on this list, Bezos has been a target for lots of criticism, especially regarding the way in which he treats his employees.
